The first session of the Sharjah International Film Festival for Children and Youth was launched in 2013, and it is the first film festival for children and youth in the country and the region.

It is one of the projects of the Fann Foundation – Media Art for Children and Youth and Fann is an institution affiliated with the Government of Sharjah to promote and support media art (filmmaking, photography, graphic design, animation).
